Among all kinds of IV needles and catheters, pen type IV catheter is the most common type of catheter IV. It is also called straight type IV tubing.As the most simple kind of catheter IV, it can also be used as vet IV catheter. There are 14G,16G,18G,22G,24G,26G and 20G pen type IV catheter.

The key component of the venous indwelling needle is the circumference of the stainless steel needle, which is made of plastic. The ducts were first produced with plasticized PVC (1950s and 1960s). As a result of small molecular plasticizer and high viscosity, it is quickly replaced by FEP (1970s).

Operation method of IV catheter

1. First pull out the protective cover and then puncture blood vessel according to aseptic operation standard. We suggest that the puncture angle is 15 to 30 degrees. Needle see blood back said successful puncture. Then pull out the tube and leave the catheter in the blood vessel. Blood flow back at needle seat indicates puncture success.

2. Connect the conical head of the infusion device with the tube body, and fix the tube on human body with medical tape.Now infusion can begin.

3. If the tube shall be kept in human body for nex time’s infusion after this time’s infusion is completed, some anti clotting agent should be injected into the conduit pipeline , and the tube mouth cap shall be sealed with a protective cap. When it is time for next infusion, unplug the protective cap first and then operate according to step 2 for infusion.

4. If the doctor or nurse found swelling at the patient’s infusion position , he or she shall carry out puncture according to step 1 and 2 for another time as swelling means infusion does not enter blood tube.

5. Three way stop cock can be adopted according to clinical needs.
