Basalt Fiber Geogrid is a kind of reinforcement product which uses the anti-acid and alkali basalt continuous filament (BCF) to produce gridding base material with advanced knitting process, sized with saline and coated with Bitumen or Polymer.
Basalt fiber geogrid is designed for reinforcing road and highway overlays to prolong the pavement lifespan by reducing the effects of reflective cracking caused by traffic loading, age hardening and temperature cycling.
More strength and chemical resistance are the biggest differences between basalt geogrids and other fibers based geogrids.
High tensile strength characteristic of basalt geogrid can be achieved accepted performance together with concrete or asphalt surface which has high compress strength, Minimized the potential collapses.
Basalt geogrid are much more lighter and stronger than steel meshes, not only the chemical resistance but also with eco-friendliness characteristic of basalt geogrid has longer lifetime then steel and other fiber based geogrids.
Pavement life between maintenance can be prolonged significantly. Basalt reinforcing mesh makes it possible to reduce thickness of asphalt concrete pavement up to 20%.
Tensile strength of monofilament can reach 4200MPa to 4800MPa.Besides, basalt fiber has fire resistance capability and wide range of work temperature, from -260C° to 650C°.
Basalt Fiber geogrid is engineered to be mechanically and chemically stable, in both harsh construction installation phase and in aggressive soil environments (pH level 3.0 – 11.0).
It can be applied under super low temperature and prevent concrete and asphalt road from cracking.
It has good physical and chemical stability, strong resistance to biologic erosion and climate changes.
