STE-8406M Gigabit Media Converter Description:
The STE-8406M is a gigabit media converter designed to convert 1000BASE-FX fiber to 1000Base-T copper media or vice versa. It offers 2 Gigabit Fiber Ports for Fiber in and Fiber out, together with 1 Gigabit Copper port for Gigabit TX connection.
Designed under IEEE802.3ab 1000Base-T and IEEE802.3z 1000Base-FX standards, theSTE-8406M is designed for use with Dual or Single, Multimode or single-mode fiber cable utilizing the SC or ST Type connectors. For Single Fiber, one of its Gigabit fiber port can be 1310nm, while the other Gigabit fiber port can be 1550nm, and vice versa. For dual fiber, both of its ports are with 1310nm and 1550nm wavelength. With 2 Gigabit Fiber ports, one ports fiber in, and the other fiber out, the Gigabit Tx port can be connected to other terminals that is with Gigabit Tx ports, e.g, a gigabit switch, a PC that is equipped with Gigabit LAN adapter, etc. The STE-8406M is popularly applied in Gigabit Fiber Chain solutions.
