MTBE (methyl tert - butyl Mr) is the abbreviation of methyl tert-butyl ether, melting point 109 ?, boiling point 55.2 ?, is a colorless, transparent, high octane number of the liquid, with ether like smell, is the production of lead-free gasoline and high octane number and oxygen of ideal form of regulation, as gasoline additives has been widely used throughout the world. It can not only improve the octane number of gasoline, but also improve the performance of the car, reduce the CO content in the exhaust, and reduce the production cost of gasoline. In addition, MTBE is also an important chemical raw material, such as high purity isobutylene by cracking. 

MTBE as a high octane number gasoline components, the basis of octane number RON: 117, MON: 101, is a good high octane number gasoline additives and dope. MTBE has relatively high oxygen content, which can significantly improve automobile exhaust emission.
