Finasteride is a 4-aza steroid that is a specific inhibitor of intracellular enzyme-type 5a-reductase in the process of testosterone metabolism becoming stronger dihydrotestosterone. And benign prostatic hyperplasia or benign prostatic hypertrophy depends on the testosterone in the prostate to dihydrotestosterone conversion.
