Product Details:
The butt fusion method of joining is by far the most common method of connecting polyethylene pipe in all diameters. The ends of polyethylene pipe when heated and brought together under pressure with specialized equipment form one continuous“leak proof” pipeline. Properly made, a pipe fusion is as strong as the pipe itself and has the same life expectancy.

SUNPLAST HDPE butt fusion fittings are made by imported PE80 or PE100 raw material from famous suppliers that has high resistance, they are mainly used in SUNPLAST HDPE pipe system for water & gas. The HDPE butt fusion fittings can fully comply with EN12201-3, EN1555 & EN ISO 15494 standard.

SUNPLAST has the ability to provide HDPE butt fusion fittings in a wide variety of sizes from DN63mm to DN800mm in SDR11 & SDR17, including: end cap, stub flange, steel backing rings, equal tee, reducing tee, reducer, elbow 45deg, elbow 90deg.,etc.

? What are HDPE stub flange used for?
A: HDPE stub flange/flange adaptor/ stub-end are used to connect HDPE pipes together or to connect to other piping equipment. The polyethylene stub flange is fused to the pipe and then joined to a similar HDPE stub flange or its matching flange of unlike material. It is joined by using bolts and back-up metal rings.

? What does "butt fusion" mean?
A: Butt fusion is a thermofusion process which involves the simultaneous heating of the ends of two pipe/fitting components which are to be joined, until a molten state is attained on each contact surface. The two surfaces are then brought together under controlled pressure for a specific cooling time and a homogeneous fusion joint is formed. The resultant joint is fully resistant to end loads and has comparable performance under pressure to the pipe itself.

? What pressure rating can SUNPLAST provide for HDPE butt fusion fittings?
A: SUNPLAST HDPE butt fusion fittings can be provided in SDR11 & SDR17, with pressure rating of PN12.5bars & PN8 bars for PE80 fittings, PE16bars & PN10bars for PE100 fittings.
