Silica Mesh (nettings) is mainly used for filtration of molten non-ferrous metals, in foundries to filter molten metal as it is poured in to casting moulds.

This silica mesh is manufactured from 96% silica fiberglass yarns which are woven in leno style, further heat treatments are often applied to prevent shrinkage of the netting in application. It is often be made to mesh filtration of molten non-ferrous metals.
