A Alligator Grab is a wireline tool used to catch and retrieve loose objects from within the wellbore where conventional grapples and debris grabs have failed.

III. Structure characteristics

The tool incorporates adjustable spring tension giving the operator control over the Alligator Grabs jaw force.

The Grab is designed with two Alligator type serrated jaws. These are activated by downward jarring which shears a pin in the jaw body allowing the spring to activate the jaws in a scissors like motion.
