Reverse osmosis is also known as reverse osmosis, a membrane separation operation which takes the pressure difference as the driving force and separates the solvent from the solution.
Pressure is applied to the material on one side of the membrane. When the pressure exceeds its osmotic pressure, the solvent will reverse the natural osmotic direction.
Therefore, the solvent is obtained through the low pressure side of the membrane.
A concentrated solution, or concentrate, is obtained at the high pressure side.
If the seawater is treated with reverse osmosis, fresh water is obtained on the low side of the membrane and the brine is obtained on the high pressure side.
Application
Waste water treatment is one of the most applied fields of anti-osmosis technology except desalting and pure water. Industrial wastewater treatment has multiple meanings, such as reducing production cost, protecting the environment and realizing waste water resources. Because of reverse osmosis membrane demand is higher, the water using reverse osmosis technology for waste water depth processing, often combine sedimentation, coagulation and microfiltration, ultrafiltration, activated carbon absorption, pH adjustment such as pretreatment process.
